Tony McDonald McDonalds IT Director
About Tony
While working as an Architect in the Building Industry in the United Kingdom I used Computer Aided Design technologies, giving me an insight into what computers could achieve and an opportunity more than 10 years ago to transition into IT. Working my way up from managing networks, users, PC's and Novell systems I then immersed myself fully into the Microsoft-Citrix world. Concentrating on Thin Client solutions with Citrix gave me a great appreciation and understanding as to how applications interact with Microsoft Server software. Having worked in support, engineering, consultancy and architecture provided me with a good foundation to create a business that knows and understands many aspects of the infrastructure world.
I passed my MCSE in Windows NT4.0, 2000 and 2003 and gained MCSE+Exchange. I was also one of the first people in the world to pass the CCEA in Citrix Presentation Server 1.8 and XP. As well as practising in these areas, and utilising and building my vast knowledge and skills on a daily basis for various clients, I also pass on and share my experiences with my team. As a natural leader with a strong client-focus, I understand the importance of having not just the technical experience and skill, but the need to understand and adapt to the business framework in which the technical IT services are required.
With strong communication skills coupled with extensive technical knowledge and a real appreciation of business needs, I can one minute be talking to the board and CEO, and the next dealing with a problem that the servicedesk has just encountered.
If we dont already work with you, I hope that soon we can share this wealth of professional services knowledge with you.
